What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?
The Erbium laser is the ultimate technology for aesthetic
skin resurfacing. Laser Skin Resurfacing is designed to
remove superficial wrinkles around the eyes, lips, forehead
and cheeks seen in aging skin. Facial scars and sun-damaged
skin are also excellent candidates for this treatment.
What kind of results can I expect?
Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth are removed,
while the deeper frown lines and grooves are softened. Once
the outer layer of skin has been removed, the new skin beneath
reveals a softer, smoother, more youthful appearance. Many
patients say our laser can erase up to ten years in a little
more than an hour.
What is the procedure of the treatment?
The laser gives your physician precise control over the
natural exfoliation process as it gently vaporizes the outer
layer of sun-damaged or acne-scarred skin to reveal the
smooth, fresh skin underneath. Lines are removed in a precise,
rapid, bloodless fashion, achieving excellent results. With
this new technology, treatment can be tailored to achieve
our patients' expectations.
What are the benefits of laser resurfacing?
Laser resurfacing gives your physician precise control as
the procedure gently vaporizes the damaged or acne-scarred
skin to reveal the smooth, fresh skin underneath. Scars
are removed in a precise and rapid fashion achieving excellent
results and the recovery time is much shorter than traditional
treatments.
What is the recovery time for the treatment?
Generally, recovery time with Laser Skin Resurfacing is
rapid and gentle. During the first few days after your procedure,
your skin will weep, as new collagen is formed to rebuild
the skin from the bottom up. Some crusting may develop as
a new skin surface is formed.
Is the treatment painful?
Most patients do not require anaesthetic. Some patients have indicated that they feel a slight tingling when the laser pulses, or
that the laser pulse feels like the snap of a rubber band against the skin.
What should you expect after treatment?
Results vary from patient to patient and may not be immediate. Results from laser scar and treatment are generally progressive and may
require multiple treatments.
Do laser treatments work?
Our current laser technology has been shown to improve or eliminate red or raised scars that will also stimulate the production of
collagen.
